Van Gogh Flowers | Gorgeous fresh flowers delivered to Surrey Hills today!
Surrey Hills is a residential suburb located 11 kilometres east of Melbourne`s central business district. The suburb is found between Mont Albert to the north and Camberwell to the south. Surrey Hills is coveted for its lush tree-lined streets and convenient proximity to Melbourne CBD. The suburb features two train stations: Surrey Hills and Chatham, both of which are serviced by the Lilydale and Belgrave railway lines.
Following the extension of the suburban railway line from Camberwell to Lilydale in 1882, Surrey Hills began to develop as a residential suburb. The majority of the suburb`s early homes were influenced by Victorian, Federation and Edwardian architectural styles. During the late 19th century, many of Surrey Hills` streets were planted with avenues of Plane and Pin Oak trees, which have now matured, affording the suburb its lush and leafy streetscape.
In addition to its leafy streets, Surrey Hills features a number of pleasant green spaces some of which include: South Surrey Park; Surrey Gardens; and Mary MacKillop Reserve. The suburb`s main shopping strips are found on Union Road, adjacent to Surrey Hills Station, and Whitehorse Road.
